STUDENT-Teaching Assistant-Kinesiology

About the role#

Ithaca College is seeking two undergraduate or graduate students to serve as Teaching Assistants for the Department of Exercise Science & Athletic Training. This position provides support for kinesiology lab and lecture content, offering students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional academic setting.

What you'll do#

• Provide teaching support for kinesiology lab and lecture content.
• Assist with the administration of course materials during lab hours.
• Hold weekly or as-needed open lab office hours.
• Organize lab activities, including the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and laboratory space.
• Lead interactive small group review sessions.
• Assist with the preparation, proctoring, and grading of assignments, quizzes, and exams.
• Contribute to the development of new learning materials.

What you'll need#

• Successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology I and II, and Kinesiology at Ithaca College.
• Ability to work up to 6 hours per week, specifically during lab hours: Monday/Tuesday 1:00 pm – 2:50 pm and Friday 8:00 am – 9:50 am.
• Strong communication and teaching skills with the ability to work well with others.
• Dependability and a commitment to proactive, positive student interaction.
• Experience with, or the ability to learn, online teaching and learning platforms.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and manage confidential matters.
• Ongoing commitment to the study and learning of Kinesiology content.

Location & details#

• Location: Ithaca, New York.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Hours: Up to 6 hours per week.
• Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
