About the role#
This position supports the Conference and Event Services office during the summer months. You will manage on-campus housing and special events for a variety of internal and external clients. The role requires you to work independently to ensure that events run smoothly and that all client needs are met.
What you'll do#
- Oversee and manage events planned by office staff.
- Assist with the summer conference housing process.
- Coordinate event services including catering, parking, security, and audio-visual setups.
- Provide necessary equipment and resolve logistical issues on-site.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all event attendees.
- Assist clients with their needs before and during their events.
- Collaborate with service-providing departments to ensure delivery of requests.
- Attend weekly meetings and participate in training sessions throughout the summer.
What you'll need#
- Availability from late May through early August.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Capacity to work independently with little to no direct supervision.
- A collaborative approach to working with diverse clients.
