About the role#
The Retail Dining Student Marketing Lead supports the growth and visibility of Retail Dining Services through creative marketing, branding, and content creation. Working under the direction of the Retail Dining Assistant Manager, this role helps coordinate promotional efforts for campus events, limited-time menu offerings, seasonal campaigns, and catering services. This is a student leadership position focused on increasing campus awareness of Retail Dining locations and strengthening their individual identities.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and create photos, videos, graphics, and written content for Retail Dining.
- Follow a structured marketing calendar to promote special events, seasonal promotions, and new menu offerings.
- Collaborate with Student Managers and Student Employees to produce engaging content.
- Assist with the production of flyers, digital signage, and promotional displays.
- Ensure all marketing materials remain consistent with Dining Services branding and quality standards.
- Track assigned projects, meet deadlines, and communicate progress to management.
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and marketing planning sessions.
What you'll need#
- Interest or experience in marketing, communications, social media, photography, graphic design, journalism, or related fields.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while remaining creative, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Comfort collaborating with other student employees while taking direction from management.
- Proficiency in creative software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, accept feedback, and maintain a flexible, dependable schedule.
Location & details#
- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Commitment: Minimum of 6 hours per week, up to a maximum of 20 hours.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position at $16 per hour, including shift drinks and meal swipe passes.
