The Residential Coordinator provides leadership for the residential and social components of Ithaca College's summer pre-college programs. This is a full-time, live-in position responsible for supporting high school students as they transition to a college environment. The role involves working closely with the Office of Extended Studies to ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of participants.
What you'll do#
- Train and supervise a team of 7-10 Resident Assistants (RAs) in the design and execution of social activities and programming.
- Manage RA scheduling, including duty rotations, on-call shifts, and programmatic responsibilities.
- Oversee residential operations, including student check-in/check-out processes, mail delivery, and the disbursement of student medications as authorized.
- Provide direct guidance to RAs regarding student supervision, policy enforcement, and emergency response.
- Intervene and provide constructive feedback to RAs to ensure job duties are completed as assigned.
- Coordinate housing assignments for program participants in collaboration with college staff.
- Maintain compliance with the Ithaca College Minor Protection Policy.
- Transport minor students to the hospital in the event of significant medical situations.
What you'll need#
- At least 2 years of experience in Residence Life, including 1 year in a supervisory role involving RAs or other student leaders.
- Demonstrated experience in residence hall operations or event planning.
- Experience working with a diverse population of students.
- A current, valid, domestic driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a federal and state criminal history and sex offender background check.
- Relevant academic background in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, or Public Health.

- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 21 – August 2, 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site, live-in position.
- Compensation: Stipend of approximately $1,199.10 per week, plus a room and meal plan.
