About the role#
The Ithaca College Annual Fund is seeking student callers to join the Phonathon program. This role offers professional experience and the opportunity to develop transferable skills in verbal communication, negotiation, and customer service. Students will engage with the college community while supporting the institution's philanthropic goals.
What you'll do#
- Connect with alumni and parents via phone, text, and email to share campus news, event updates, and college initiatives.
- Communicate the mission and priorities of Ithaca College professionally.
- Request financial support from alumni and parents through pledges, credit card gifts, or checks.
- Maintain accurate records and data.
- Incorporate coaching and feedback from supervisors and staff to improve performance.
- Manage your school workload alongside your scheduled shifts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Ithaca College.
- Familiarity with the campus, its history, and current activities.
- A courteous and engaging personality with the ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively by telephone.
- Proficiency in presenting information concisely and persuasively.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to follow directions accurately.
- A genuine interest in supporting Ithaca College.
Location & details#
- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Two shifts per week, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Employment Status: Paid, part-time position with rolling recruitment.
