Student-Physical Therapy Dept. Teaching Assistant

About the role#

Ithaca College is hiring Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support seven courses within the Physical Therapy Department for the Spring 2026 semester. These positions offer an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting while supporting the academic success of fellow students. TAs are responsible for facilitating lab sessions, assisting with evaluations, and providing administrative support to faculty coordinators.

What you'll do#

• Assist in labs and demonstrate physical therapy techniques to students.
• Support student learning by engaging actively in labs and assisting with clinical applications.
• Host open labs, supervise practical sessions, and provide one-on-one tutoring for students needing additional support.
• Assist with preparing check-off evaluations, grading assignments, and conducting small group discussion groups.
• Coordinate and recruit for patient lab experiences and perform administrative tasks as required by the course coordinator.

What you'll need#

• Must be a DPT II or DPT III student in the Physical Therapy Program in good academic standing.
• Successful completion of the specific course related to the TA position with a grade of B+ or better.
• Excellent verbal communication and teaching skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact effectively with students and faculty.
• Highly motivated, professional, and responsible with strong organizational and time management skills.
