About the role#
The Unity Center is seeking a creative and reliable Student Media Assistant to document and promote campus programs and events. This role focuses on visual storytelling to ensure students feel represented and valued. This is a paid position for the full academic year, with additional opportunities available during winter and summer sessions.
What you'll do#
- Attend Unity Center programs and events to capture high-quality photos and videos.
- Create engaging social media content, such as reels, short videos, and recap posts.
- Organize and maintain digital media files in a structured and accessible way.
- Collaborate with staff to highlight key moments, stories, and student experiences.
- Support the creation of event recaps and promotional materials.
- Attend staff meetings to contribute ideas for content and storytelling.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Interest or experience in photography, videography, or content creation.
- Familiarity with social media platforms like Instagram.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends for events.
- A passion for storytelling and supporting diverse student communities.
- Reliability and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Preferred but not required: Experience with editing tools like Canva, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or Lightroom, and an eye for visual composition.

- Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.
