About the role#
The LGBTQ Center at Ithaca College is looking for a Student Coordinator for Digital Content. You will create digital graphics and print materials to promote events and resources. You will also help plan video content and manage creative projects while following accessibility standards. This role involves 6 hours of work per week, including staff and supervisor meetings. You will also greet visitors, provide general office support, and offer peer-to-peer referrals for students.
What you'll do#
- Create digital graphics for social media and printed flyers.
- Develop a social media engagement plan each semester.
- Help plan and create video content for the web and social media.
- Manage creative projects within established timelines.
- Support LGBTQ Center events and maintain the physical space.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and peers.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a student at Ithaca College.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 and good academic standing.
- Strong graphic design skills and experience with design software like Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva.
- Experience using Instagram and a willingness to learn other social media platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the experiences and needs of historically marginalized students.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding Center documents and conversations.
- Availability for staff training at the start of each semester.
- Video production skills and experience creating engagement strategies are preferred.
- A willingness to act as a representative of the LGBTQ Center and a role model for the community.
