About the role#
The Terrace Commissary Dining Hall is seeking students for a late-night position. This role provides an opportunity to gain work experience and develop transferable skills in a professional setting. On-the-job training is provided, and the position includes free meals during shifts.
What you'll do#
- Set up serving stations with menu items, utensils, condiments, and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation according to standard operating procedures.
- Take and record food temperatures at required intervals.
- Replenish items on service lines from coolers, ovens, and hot boxes.
- Break down service lines after each meal service and properly store or dispose of food.
- Assist guests with inquiries regarding ingredients, allergens, and unit offerings.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and management.
What you'll need#
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Open to students from all majors, including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources, Environmental Engineering, and Nursing.
