About the role#
This position at Terrace Dining Hall offers students the chance to gain work experience in a professional dining setting. You will provide customer service to guests while ensuring the dining area runs smoothly. The role includes on-the-job training and free meals during shifts. This is a paid position for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Set up serving stations with all required menu items, utensils, and condiments.
- Keep your workstation clean and follow sanitation procedures.
- Take and record food temperatures at regular intervals.
- Replenish food items on service lines from ovens, coolers, and hot boxes.
- Break down service lines after each meal and store or dispose of food properly.
- Answer guest questions about ingredients, allergens, and menu items.
- Communicate clearly with co-workers and management.
What you'll need#
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Attention to detail regarding food temperatures and station upkeep.

- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift.
