About the role#
The Kosher Dining Services Assistant position at Terrace Dining Hall provides students with professional work experience in a dining environment. This role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service while ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met. On-the-job training is provided for all responsibilities.
What you'll do#
- Set up serving stations with required menu items, utensils, condiments, and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation throughout the shift.
- Take and record food temperatures at designated intervals.
- Replenish food items on service lines from ovens, coolers, and hot boxes.
- Break down service lines following each meal service, including the proper storage or disposal of food.
- Assist guests by answering inquiries regarding ingredients, allergens, and unit offerings.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and management.
What you'll need#
- Ability to multitask and maintain a neat appearance in a busy environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of sanitation and food handling safety procedures.
- Attention to detail regarding temperature logs and service line maintenance.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
