The ICTV News Director serves as the Executive Producer for all news programming at Ithaca College. This role focuses on maintaining professional standards, overseeing production quality, and managing the operational needs of the news department. The position is paid at $16 per hour for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Serve as the Executive Producer for all news programming.
- Ensure cohesive and professional broadcasts across all news segments.
- Coordinate meetings and critiques with news producers to maintain quality and ethical standards.
- Train cast and crew members at the start of each semester.
- Manage the allocation of ICTV Checkout Center equipment for news shows.
- Appoint assistant producers, reporters, anchors, and producers for Newswatch.
- Attend weekly meetings with the ICTV Executive Staff.
What you'll need#
- At least one semester of prior experience volunteering with ICTV.
- Ability to train cast and crew members effectively.
- Experience managing broadcast equipment.
- Strong coordination skills to oversee production quality.
- A solid understanding of ethical broadcasting practices.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
