STUDENT-ICTV Director of Technical Operations

About the role#

The Director of Technical Operations oversees the technical infrastructure and workflows for ICTV. This role serves as a key liaison between station leadership, engineering staff, and administration to ensure high-quality programming and efficient station operations.

What you'll do#

• Manage all technical operations and maintain established workflows for producers.
• Coordinate with the Director of Programming to organize studio space and manage equipment allocation.
• Oversee the ICTV Checkout Center, including training operators and providing technical guidance to volunteers.
• Identify and request technology and equipment upgrades to improve station quality.
• Attend weekly meetings with the ICTV Executive Staff.

What you'll need#

• At least one semester of prior experience volunteering within ICTV.
• Ability to oversee complex technical operations and equipment allocation.
• Experience coordinating with producers and facilitating technical training.
• Skills in identifying equipment needs and managing budget allocation requests.
• Enrollment in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Media Studies, or Communications.

• Compensation: $16 per hour.
