About the role#
This position supports the South Hill School Age Program by assisting Team Teachers and Directors with daily activities and operations. You will help maintain a safe environment while supporting the development of school-age children. This role is open to students awarded Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Help implement daily activities including outdoor and gym time, group projects, and homework sessions.
- Ensure the safety of all children and help manage group transitions.
- Participate in program planning and assist with lesson plans.
- Discuss children's progress and individual needs with staff members.
- Help maintain the security and cleanliness of program equipment and spaces.
- Attend staff orientation and complete all required training.
What you'll need#
- Prior experience working with school-age children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good decision-making skills and a responsible approach to supervision.
- Enthusiasm for childhood development.
- Majors in Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, Kinesiology, or Public Health are preferred.

- Schedule: 7 to 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
