About the role#
The Ithaca College Wellness Clinic is a membership-based fitness center. This role supports the facility by providing health and fitness services to the campus community. You will gain practical experience through guided clinical training while assisting faculty, staff, and students with their fitness goals.
What you'll do#
- Supervise the fitness floor and assist clients with exercise prescriptions.
- Educate clients on health, fitness, and wellness topics.
- Ensure client safety through proper spotting and exercise technique.
- Enforce clinic policies and procedures.
- Maintain facility records, equipment, and cleanliness, including laundering towels.
- Teach group exercise sessions if qualified.
- Maintain professional rapport and client confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Must be a matriculated student at Ithaca College.
- Completion of EXSS 12500 Foundations of Exercise Science and EXSS 26200 Personal Training.
- Current Personal Training certification.
- Ability to work during weekday operational hours between 6 am and 7 pm.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and a reliable work ethic.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Required certifications upon hiring include Adult CPR/AED, HIPAA, Blood Borne Pathogen, and Harassment Prevention training.
Location & details#
- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay Rate: $16 to $16.30 per hour.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
