About the role#

Ithaca College is hiring Dining Student Workers to provide exceptional customer service and support dining operations. This position offers experiential learning opportunities, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting. All necessary training is provided for this role.

What you'll do#

• Greet guests with a warm, friendly demeanor and assist with special requests.
• Maintain knowledge of all food items on service lines, including ingredients, preparations, and allergens.
• Set up, maintain, and break down service lines, including cleaning and sanitizing workstations, counters, and steam tables.
• Comply with HACCP regulations, including taking and recording food temperatures at required intervals.
• Replenish service line items and assist with dining room preparation before and after meal services.
• Collaborate with co-workers and management through clear, professional communication.
• Assist at other service stations as requested.

What you'll need#

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet the needs of guests.
• Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures is preferred, though full training is provided.
• Ability to maintain a neat and tidy physical appearance.

Location & details#

• Location: Ithaca, New York.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: 4 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available Monday through Saturday.
• Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.
