About the role#
This position within the Terrace Dining Services Bakery provides an opportunity to gain professional experience while working in a campus environment. The role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service, maintaining safety standards, and supporting daily bakery operations. On-the-job training is provided.
What you'll do#
- Help manage other students and assist in running shifts.
- Train new student workers on operational procedures.
- Set up and break down service lines, including managing menu items, utensils, and condiments.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation and follow all food safety protocols.
- Take and record food temperatures at required intervals.
- Replenish service lines from coolers, ovens, and hot boxes.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and management.
- Assist guests by maintaining knowledge of food items, ingredients, and allergens.
What you'll need#
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Strong communication skills.
- Previous experience in training new workers.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
