About the role#
This position is based in the Terrace Bakery at Ithaca College. You will provide customer service to guests while gaining work experience. The role involves standing and walking for the duration of your shift. We provide on-the-job training for all new hires.
What you'll do#
- Help manage other students and run shifts.
- Train new student workers.
- Set up serving stations with menu items, utensils, and condiments.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation according to standard procedures.
- Take and record food temperatures at required intervals.
- Replenish service lines from ovens, coolers, and hot boxes.
- Break down service lines and store or dispose of food after meal service.
- Answer guest inquiries regarding food items, ingredients, and allergens.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and management.
