STUDENT-Commencement Live Event Technical

About the role#

Ithaca College is seeking experienced student technicians to support the production and broadcast of the Commencement Ceremony and related events. This role involves working within a professional control room environment to ensure high-quality live event coverage.

What you'll do#

• Perform technical roles including technical director, assistant director, playback operator, audio engineer, editor, camera operator, or graphics operator.
• Operate control room equipment during live event production.
• Apply advanced live event operational knowledge to manage broadcast requirements.
• Solve technical problems and think critically under pressure.

What you'll need#

• Candidates must have successfully completed or be currently enrolled in TVR49300: Live Event Production.
• Alternatively, candidates may have completed TVR22500: Television Production and Direction with a recommendation.
• Preference is given to those who have completed TVR49300: Live Event Production.
• Candidates may also qualify with advanced Steadicam or Drone certifications.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
• Proficiency in operating control room equipment.
• Enrollment in Media Studies or Communications majors.

• Location: Ithaca, New York.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $16.50 per hour.
• Status: Paid, full-time student employment.
