STUDENT-Audio Visual Technician

About the role#

The Audio Visual Technician student position provides technical support for audio/visual equipment in classrooms, lecture halls, and meeting rooms. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, staffing the office, and responding to technical support requests to ensure campus facilities remain operational.

What you'll do#

• Troubleshoot classroom technology both over the phone and in-person.
• Create and update support tickets in a timely manner to keep clients informed.
• Provide on-call support for the campus community.
• Collaborate with teammates to complete projects, finish tasks, and close tickets.
• Complete the Extron AV Associate certification.

What you'll need#

• Must be a currently enrolled student at Ithaca College.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift 20 lbs comfortably.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong critical thinking skills for technical troubleshooting.

• Location: Ithaca, New York.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $16/hr.
• Schedule: 8-10 hours per week.
• Eligibility: This position is subject to a criminal background check.
