About the role#
The MLK Scholars Cohort Manager acts as the primary representative and advocate for their graduating class within the Martin Luther King Scholars Program. You will foster community, plan events, and share feedback from your peers with the Unity Center and the MLK Scholars Advisory Council. This position helps you build skills in leadership, advocacy, and event planning while supporting your fellow scholars.
What you'll do#
- Serve as the primary representative for your graduating class cohort.
- Plan and implement one cohort-exclusive event each month, such as study nights, service projects, or social gatherings.
- Collect and communicate cohort concerns, feedback, and recommendations to program leadership.
- Maintain regular communication with your cohort members to keep them engaged.
- Advocate for the needs and interests of your peers.
- Collaborate with the Unity Center to manage logistics and funding for events.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current MLK Scholar in good academic and program standing.
- You must be enrolled at the Ithaca College Ithaca Main Campus for the full academic year.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- You must commit to the full term of employment.
- This role is open to students across various majors, including Communications, Psychology, Political Science, and Business Administration.

- The term of employment covers the Fall 2026 semester.
