About the role#
The IAP Scholars Cohort Manager serves as the primary representative and advocate for their graduating class within the Ithaca Achievement Program Scholars Program. This position focuses on fostering community, increasing engagement, and communicating the needs and ideas of peers to the Unity Center and the IAP Scholars Advisory Council. It offers an opportunity to develop leadership, event planning, and advocacy skills.
What you'll do#
- Serve as the primary representative for your graduating class cohort.
- Build community and strengthen connections among cohort members.
- Plan and implement one cohort-exclusive event per month during the academic year, such as study nights, service projects, or social activities.
- Promote participation in IAP Scholars Program initiatives.
- Serve on the IAP Scholars Advisory Council and attend monthly meetings with the Program Director.
- Collect and communicate cohort feedback and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Unity Center staff and other Cohort Managers.
What you'll need#
- Be a current IAP Scholar in good program and academic standing.
- Be enrolled and on the Ithaca College Ithaca Main Campus for the full academic year.
- Maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to commit to the full academic year term.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, and Political Science.
