About the role#
The First-Generation Office Programs Assistant works within the Unity Center to support first-generation college students. This role focuses on creating resources, events, and opportunities that help students feel connected and successful. You will assist staff in building a community that supports student belonging throughout the academic year.
What you'll do#
- Plan and carry out workshops, events, and signature programs like First-Generation College Celebration Week.
- Facilitate social, leadership, and educational opportunities for students.
- Promote upcoming programs using social media, outreach, and marketing efforts.
- Track student engagement, maintain attendance records, and manage program data.
- Handle event logistics, including setup, registration, and hospitality.
- Communicate with participants, campus partners, and guests.
- Attend staff meetings to share ideas and address student needs.
