Division of Advancement Student Assistant / Advancement Ambassador

About the role#

The Division of Advancement Student Assistant supports the Engagement team with daily operations, alumni communications, data processing, and event preparation. As an ambassador, you will help strengthen relationships between Ithaca College and its alumni community while promoting student awareness of institutional advancement. You will work collaboratively with Advancement staff and report directly to the Engagement Operations Associate.

What you'll do#

• Answer the main phone line, transfer calls, and take messages.
• Respond to inquiries via the alumni email account.
• Provide general information to alumni.
• Process data in the internal database.
• Code events and assist with event preparation, including creating nametags and gathering supplies.
• Perform general office duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at Ithaca College.
• Familiarity with the Ithaca College campus, history, and activities.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone and via email.
• A courteous and engaging personality.
• Ability to present information concisely and follow directions to accurately record data.
• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.

Location & details#

• Location: Ithaca, New York.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (10-15 hours per week).
• Compensation: $16 per hour.
• Term: Rolling.
