    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Engineering student, you will support the development and planning of capital improvement projects at the Saint John Refinery and various terminals. You will work within the Engineering Services team to evaluate business opportunities, develop project scopes, and assist with technical requirements, cost estimates, and deliverables. This role involves applying mechanical engineering principles to analyze equipment, processes, and operational challenges while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from concept through execution.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the development and planning of capital improvement projects.
    • Assist with engineering studies to assess project viability.
    • Contribute to project scope development, including technical requirements and cost estimates.
    • Apply mechanical engineering principles to analyze equipment and operational challenges.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support projects from concept through execution.
    • Gain knowledge of refinery and terminal operations while supporting safety, reliability, and performance initiatives.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program, completing your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated.
    • Knowledge of MS Office.
    • A valid Canadian driver’s license.
    • Experience with Excel or AutoCAD is considered an asset.
