About the role#
Invariant is looking for interns to join the Communications and Public Affairs team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, DC. You will work on strategic communications projects and help clients build their brands. The firm emphasizes mentorship and professional growth, with a focus on developing your writing and research skills.
What you'll do#
- Analyze media and social media trends.
- Build media lists and research journalists.
- Create content for social media platforms.
- Research stakeholders and identify opportunities for executive positioning at conferences or through awards.
- Handle daily tasks based on the changing needs of the firm.
What you'll need#
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Comfort with social media and online platforms.
- Enthusiasm for news, public affairs, or public relations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with others.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to your work.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, is a plus.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications or Political Science.

- Location: Washington, DC (on-site).
- Term: Winter 2027, starting January 11, 2027.
- Compensation: $19 per hour for undergraduates and $24 per hour for graduate students.
