About the role#
Invariant is seeking a Creative Design Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, DC. You will work directly with the Art Director on client projects, supporting our government relations and communications work.
What you'll do#
- Execute design production for client accounts, including social graphics, presentation decks, digital assets, and print collateral.
- Edit and update existing files in Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Build out branded PowerPoint templates.
- Manage your own workload by logging requests, updating statuses, and flagging blockers.
- Conduct research to support creative briefs and campaign concepts.
- Collaborate with the Art Director and the digital team on active accounts.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Working knowledge of Figma to navigate files, make edits, and export assets.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, self-starting attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple requests at once.
- Experience with PowerPoint template design is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Basecamp is preferred.
- An interest in public affairs, communications, or political strategy is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC (On-site).
- Term: Winter 2027, beginning January 11, 2027.
- Compensation: $19 per hour for undergraduates and $24 per hour for graduate candidates.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
