The Refugee Health Promotion Intern will focus on expanding health resources for IRC clients in Wichita. This role involves building professional partnerships with local health care providers and developing a comprehensive service map to improve client access to wellness services.
What you'll do#
- Contact health care providers to establish and maintain partnerships.
- Create a service map to support the health and wellness needs of IRC clients.
- Lead three different workshops for clients, including managing documentation for services, attendance, and knowledge outcomes.
- Provide transportation for clients using IRC vehicles as needed.
- Offer bus training to clients to help them navigate local transit.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a BSW or MSW student at an accredited university, with foundational coursework in social work, health, or wellness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse populations.
- Comfort with or willingness to develop public speaking skills for weekly group facilitation.
- Demonstrated competence in time management and organizational tasks.
- Reliable access to transportation.
