About the role#
The Operations Intern provides administrative and operational support to the International Rescue Committee office in Atlanta. This is an unpaid, in-person internship reporting to the Operations Coordinator. The role requires a commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months.
What you'll do#
- Support the Administrative Assistant with managing reception materials, answering client questions, and directing requests to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain the reception area and lobby in a neat and professional manner.
- Liaise with office and equipment maintenance providers and other external parties to support daily operations.
- Cover the front desk as needed.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Submit intern hours on the volunteer dashboard.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or background in Business Administration, Political Science, Human Resources, or Operations Management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, with bilingual skills considered a plus.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
