About the role#
The BMW Championship Operations Assistant Intern supports the Championship Staff at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City. This role involves hands-on work across various event projects leading up to and during the tournament. You will be on-site daily to help manage the operational and volunteer logistics required to run a PGA TOUR event.
What you'll do#
- Manage equipment set-up, breakdown, inventory, and maintenance.
- Handle vendor contract negotiations and oversee on-site vendor activities.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipping and receiving.
- Maintain high standards for event presentation and oversee the operational timeline for set-up and tear-down.
- Assist with the set-up and tear-down of Championship Headquarters.
- Support the Volunteer Manager with database management, scheduling, and committee communications.
- Help prepare and execute volunteer training, package fulfillment, and distribution.
- Assist with the oversight of all tournament committees.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Major in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A highly motivated and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Ability to work full time from June 1st through September 3rd.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Reliable transportation and local housing within a reasonable commuting distance.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
