About the role#
The Women’s Resilience Center (WRC) Internship provides students with the opportunity to engage in community outreach and support the facilitation of center programming. This role involves a combination of program support, administrative tasks, and direct service based on the intern's experience. You will work under the supervision of the WRC Coordinator to help restore safety and provide resources to women within the IRC community.
What you'll do#
- Conduct outreach to women within the IRC community regarding WRC programs.
- Co-facilitate orientations for new WRC members and assist with wellness workshops.
- Support initiatives to ensure the WRC remains an inclusive and safe space.
- Provide members with information about community resources and facilitate internal referrals to other IRC programs.
- Collaborate with staff, other interns, community partners, and various departments.
- Assist with data monitoring and evaluation of center programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s program in Women’s/Gender Studies, Public Health, Social Work, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with people of varying English-speaking abilities.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Farsi, Dari, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Pashto, Ukrainian, or Russian is preferred.
- Experience with direct service is preferred.
Location & details#
- This internship is located in San Diego, California.
- The position is on-site, with office hours available Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm PST.
- This is an unpaid, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term.
