The Supply Chain Intern will support the Operations team in the Atlanta office by assisting with inventory and fleet management. This role provides hands-on experience in humanitarian logistics, focusing on the organization and distribution of donated household items to clients. This is an unpaid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Manage the stock room by checking out IRC staff and clients during shopping visits.
- Perform physical inventory counts and enter data into Microsoft Excel.
- Label, organize, load, and unload donated household items.
- Conduct weekly vehicle inspections using a standard checklist.
- Transport donated items as needed using an IRC or personal insured vehicle.
- Submit weekly hours via the volunteer portal.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or background in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Logistics.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and time management skills.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Fall 2026 (beginning the week of September 8, 2026).
- Commitment: Minimum of 12 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the United States, and able to pass a background check. No work sponsorship is provided.
