About the role#
The Supply Chain Intern will support the operations team at the International Rescue Committee in Atlanta. This role focuses on inventory management, fleet maintenance, and general operational support to assist refugees and asylees served by the office. This is an unpaid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Manage the stock room by checking out staff and clients during shopping visits.
- Perform physical inventory counts and enter data into Excel.
- Label, organize, load, and unload donated household items.
- Conduct weekly vehicle inspections using a standard checklist.
- Transport donated items as needed using a personal or agency vehicle.
- Submit weekly hours through the volunteer portal.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or background in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Logistics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
- Commitment: 12 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months.
- Modality: On-site.
