The Immigration Intern will support Department of Justice (DOJ) accredited representatives in managing immigration matters. This role involves assisting with legal procedures, maintaining case files, and conducting community outreach to support populations served by the organization.
What you'll do#
- Provide general information regarding immigration law, procedures, and eligibility requirements.
- Complete application forms based on client information.
- Assist with case management tasks, including data entry and updating client case files.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status updates, appointment notices, and requests for evidence.
- Conduct intake processes and complete service agreements.
- Research immigration-related topics and monitor Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy updates.
- Develop training and program materials.
- Conduct community outreach activities.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and internet research.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Experience in an immigration-related field is preferred.
- Candidates pursuing degrees in Political Science, International Relations, Human Resources, Communications, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, or Criminal Justice are encouraged to apply.
