About the role#
The College and Career Readiness (CCR) Program supports newly arrived refugee youth, ages 15-24, as they prepare for their educational and career goals. This internship provides hands-on experience in youth development, social work, and education by assisting the Workforce Development team in delivering individualized and group-based support. Interns help foster a supportive learning environment that empowers youth to transition into adulthood.
What you'll do#
- Meet with students to provide college and career support.
- Conduct program intakes to establish a baseline for growth and service provision.
- Engage clients in monthly workshops and outdoor activities by coordinating outreach and transportation support.
- Assist in delivering content by presenting sections of monthly workshops.
- Maintain accurate and timely program case notes for intakes, workshops, events, and assessments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate program, or graduation within the last 6 months.
- Strong passion for working with teenage youth.
- Experience working in multicultural environments, specifically with refugee and immigrant populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Fluency in English; fluency in an additional foreign language is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Valid Utah Driver’s License, access to a vehicle, and willingness to drive clients.

- Location: Salt Lake City, UT.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: This is an unpaid, full-time internship with rolling start dates.
- Schedule: Requires availability for some evening and weekend commitments.
- Majors: Psychology, Human Resources, Sociology, Communications, or Public Health.
