About the role#
The Career Programs Intern will support the Career Development team in providing services to immigration-impacted youth and young adults. This role focuses on helping clients pursue industry-recognized certifications in fields such as Allied Healthcare and I.T. while assisting in the delivery of workforce preparation activities and classes.
What you'll do#
- Support Career Development staff with outreach, data entry, filing, and database quality assurance.
- Work individually with clients to provide resume reviews, job search assistance, networking support, and interview preparation.
- Develop professional guides, resources, and training curriculums.
- Provide one-on-one technical assistance sessions to participants with limited English proficiency.
- Assist training staff with post-class follow-ups and other assigned administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program focused on Education, International Relations, Development, Social Work, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including basic functions of Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently.
- A proactive, motivated, and flexible approach to tasks.
- Preferred: Prior volunteer experience with a non-profit organization.
- Preferred: Language skills in Farsi, Dari, Kiswahili, Arabic, Burmese, or Russian.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: Hybrid, with opportunities to work from El Cajon and City Heights offices.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. PST.
- Status: This is an unpaid, full-time internship.
