About the role#
This internship provides a practical look at how a modern sawmill operates. You will work alongside experienced professionals to see how people, equipment, technology, and processes function in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in Eatonton, Georgia, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing environment.
- Explore production processes to understand how teams produce wood products.
- Contribute to projects focused on operational efficiency, process improvement, and production performance.
- Analyze data and observations to find opportunities for improvement across mill operations.
- Build your leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Wood Products Processing, or a related field.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- A curious, hands-on approach to learning how manufacturing operations work.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees across different teams and departments.
- Comfort reviewing information, asking questions, and solving problems.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Compensation: Paid position with a starting salary from $3,700 per month and a temporary living allowance for those relocating.
