About the role#
Interfor is seeking a Maintenance Intern for a summer role in Castlegar. This position is for students who want to build practical skills in a wood products manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals to solve real-world problems and gain exposure to sawmill operations. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Learn how industrial maintenance supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Contribute to projects focused on equipment reliability, process improvement, and operational performance.
- Work with maintenance and operations professionals to solve technical challenges.
- Build your analytical and problem-solving skills.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Interest in hands-on work within an industrial setting.
Location & details#
- Location: Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4-8 months).
- Compensation: Starting at $3,350 per month, plus a temporary living allowance for those moving to the area.
- Requirements: Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
