About the role#
Interfor is looking for an intern to join our team in Chase, British Columbia. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced professionals to build practical skills in forestry and wood product manufacturing. The role includes a salary starting from $3,350 per month, depending on your year in school and experience, along with a temporary living allowance for those moving to the area.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience using GIS technology to support forestry and operational projects.
- Create, update, and analyze maps and spatial data used in real-world decision making.
- Explore how GIS connects field activities, reporting, and sustainable forest management.
- Support projects that improve data accuracy, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
- Build technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program in GIS, Geography, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience with GIS tools such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze information and communicate findings clearly.
- Independent problem-solving skills.
