    About the role#

    This is a paid, full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site at our headquarters in Washington, D.C., for a two-month period from January 16th to March 15th, 2027. This role provides an opportunity to learn about development work and corporate management while gaining professional experience.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the division with project origination by preparing marketing materials and institutional presentations.
    • Assist Investment Officers in preparing material for investment committees, including coordination with credit risk, legal, and mobilization units.
    • Collect and analyze data and news regarding local and international debt capital markets and sustainable finance.
    • Automate recurring reports, portfolio tracking tools, and project-monitoring processes using Excel and PowerBI.
    • Assist with data collection, validation, and analysis for internal capital markets programs.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an active undergraduate student in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, International Development, or a related discipline.
    • You must have completed your second year of studies and have a graduation date scheduled after the internship concludes.
    • You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program and have no prior history as an IDB staff member or contractor.
    • You are required to have no family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
    • You must possess fluency in English and demonstrate superior analytical and quantitative skills.
    • You need proficiency in PowerBI, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.

    Location & details#

    • The internship is located in Washington, D.C., United States.
    • This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
    • Applicants must be able to provide official academic transcripts and a university letter certifying their student status.
    • International students must ensure they have valid work authorization through CPT or OPT for the duration of the internship.
