About the role#
Integrated Polymer Solutions is hiring a Materials Laboratory Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role offers hands-on experience in material science, quality control, and product development. You will work directly with lab equipment and gain exposure to industry-standard testing practices and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Long Beach, California.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and test rubber samples according to established procedures and ASTM/ISO standards.
- Operate, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment while following safety protocols.
- Perform data entry and basic statistical analysis.
- Support compliance testing for requirements including REACH, RoHS, TSCA, PFAS, and Proposition 65.
- Track samples and collect data for various projects.
- Collaborate with chemists, engineers, and technicians to troubleshoot material performance issues.
- Provide general support to your assigned functional area.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A basic understanding of polymers, elastomers, or rubber materials is preferred.
- You must be a U.S. person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Location & details#
- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Term: Fall 2026 (12-16 weeks).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $21 - $25 per hour.
