About the role#
InnovateEDU is seeking a Policy Intern to support the organization's policy priorities during the Fall 2026 term. This role provides an immersive experience in legislative work, focusing on the intersection of education data, workforce development, and responsible AI. Interns work alongside the leadership team to navigate policy landscapes and support the development of cross-sector coalitions.
What you'll do#
- Conduct policy scans of federal and state legislative activity related to education data, AI, and workforce development.
- Support the development of policy briefs, memos, and actionable recommendations.
- Attend and summarize relevant webinars, hearings, and coalition meetings.
- Support stakeholder engagement efforts and collaborate with staff to align policy goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in public policy, education, political science, or a related field.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Asana.
