About the role#
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will support the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of air traffic systems including Ground-Based Radio Navigational Aids and surveillance radios. You will work alongside our engineering teams to ensure our systems meet technical and customer requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist with circuit design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems.
- Support the development of analog, digital, RF, and power electronics for radar and navigation systems.
- Build, modify, and test prototype hardware and circuit boards.
- Use laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
- Help create test procedures, reports, schematics, and other engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with Software, Systems, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams during design reviews.
- Support root-cause analysis for hardware issues during development and production.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders, Bills of Materials, and technical drawings.
- Assist with manufacturing tasks related to the assembly and improvement of electronic products.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with electrical circuit design, analysis, and PCB troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
- Familiarity with schematic capture or PCB CAD tools.
- Proficiency with engineering software such as MATLAB or LTspice.
- Ability to work in both Windows and Linux environments.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid summer internship for 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Overland Park, KS. Note that operations will move to a new facility in Olathe, KS.
