About the role#
IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 program in New York, NY. This is a 10 to 12-week paid, full-time position. You will join our structural team to support the analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems for commercial and institutional projects across the New York metro area.
What you'll do#
- Assist with structural design tasks in accordance with code and company standards.
- Support client relations and maintain project design notebooks.
- Coordinate design schedules with other disciplines including architectural, electrical, and mechanical teams.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and project progress.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct periodic job site observations as required by contract agreements.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skills in AutoCAD or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- A strong interest in design consulting.
- Ability to communicate clearly with individuals and groups.
