About the role#
IMEG is hiring a Civil Survey Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in either Rock Island or Peoria, Illinois. Over the course of 10 to 12 weeks, you will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on transportation, municipal, and bridge projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, and permit applications.
- Work on site drainage and grading design.
- Coordinate design and scheduling activities with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, and clerical teams.
- Conduct periodic job site observations as required by contract agreements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations within established budgets.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and project progress.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and BIM.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats to individuals or groups.
- Ability to regularly sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
