About the role#
IMEG is offering a paid Civil Engineering Internship for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Rock Island or Peoria, Illinois. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience in the design consulting industry. The program lasts 10 to 12 weeks and involves contributing to municipal, transportation, and public works projects.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, and report writing.
- Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
- Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers.
- Conduct periodic job site observations.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions.
- Assist with civil design work, project documentation, and monitoring project progress.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and BIM.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats.
- A strong interest in design consulting.
