As a Reliability Engineering Co-Op, you will gain hands-on experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the production and maintenance teams to optimize equipment reliability, standardize documentation, and support the integration of asset management systems.
What you'll do#
- Complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) optimizations and develop new PM strategies.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance departments to develop asset strategies, job plans, and spare parts lists.
- Standardize spare parts lists by reviewing technical documentation, performing physical line walkdowns, and coordinating with vendors.
- Assist the Reliability Engineer with data collection and evidence gathering for Root Cause Analysis investigations.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).
- Support the maintenance team by providing training and troubleshooting assistance for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and the internal Document Navigation Accelerator (DNA) system.
- Coordinate safety-related work orders and assist in the creation of reliability reports and dashboards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering program.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical components, including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, measure components, and create hand sketches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Look-ups and Pivot Tables) and Word.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to work autonomously.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to work in a production environment that may be dusty, loud, or dirty.
- Previous knowledge of a CMMS is considered an asset.
