About the role#
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineering student for a full-time co-op position in Ashcroft, British Columbia. You will work with the plant maintenance team, including supervisors, the reliability engineer, and millwrights, to support strategic initiatives and capital projects. This role runs from January through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Shadow millwrights and journeymen to create maintenance SOPs and SWIs.
- Review current preventative and predictive maintenance activities and refine tasks to ensure assets are maintained.
- Perform spare parts optimization for critical assets.
- Assist the maintenance superintendent with project management, including tendering, planning, installation, supervision, commissioning, and closeout.
- Prepare drawings and models for projects.
- Collaborate with millwrights to transfer information into standard templates and update documentation.
- Complete other engineering projects related to plant operations and maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate post-secondary engineering program (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
- Commitment to health and safety.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Critical thinking skills and a high degree of organization.
- Ability to work well both in a team and independently.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks is an asset, as is experience with troubleshooting.
Location & details#
- Location: Ashcroft, BC.
- Term: Winter and Summer 2027 (January to August).
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Compensation: $24.50 to $27.50 per hour.
