About the role#
As a Software Development Engineer in Test Intern, you will join our QA Technology team. You will work across the organization to advance our technology development, exchange products, and regulatory initiatives. This role allows you to use your technical and problem-solving skills to help us maintain performance and transparency. You will learn about order types, queue priority, and equities execution while building tools to support the IEX exchange platform. No prior finance experience is required.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve tooling to test the IEX exchange platform.
- Develop dashboards and tools to enhance the platform through full-stack projects.
- Collaborate with Core Development, Data Engineering, Market Ops, SRE, Business Development, and Regulatory teams.
- Gather requirements from these teams to identify platform improvements and build solutions that make their work more efficient.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Java.
- Experience with scripting, building, deploying, and configuring software in a Linux environment.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- Enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.

- This position is based on-site in New York, New York.
- The role is a full-time, paid internship.
