About the role#
As an intern in the Quantum Information Software group, you will work with researchers and developers to advance software for fault tolerant quantum computing. You will contribute to projects that push the state of the art in quantum systems.
What you'll do#
- Estimate resources for quantum algorithms.
- Compile and optimize high-level quantum algorithm primitives, such as block encoding and arithmetic.
- Develop techniques to reduce non-Clifford resource usage in quantum algorithms.
- Optimize compilation for the bicycle architecture, including magic state factories and entanglement routing.
- Implement existing optimization techniques found in literature.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with quantum information, quantum circuits, and early fault tolerant quantum computing literature.
- Ability to transform theoretical concepts into software prototypes.
- A track record of independent research and publication in quantum information science.
- Familiarity with modern quantum algorithms for simulation and cryptography.
- Expertise in quantum architectures based on qLDPC codes.
- Familiarity with error correction and simulations of QEC circuits.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Physics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Work is on-site in Yorktown Heights, NY; San Jose, CA; Cambridge, MA; or Chicago, IL.
- The internship term is rolling.
