About the role#
The Accounting & Finance Internship at Hylant is a full-time, paid summer program based in Toledo, Ohio. You will join a team of mentors and leaders to gain hands-on experience in insurance finance and accounting. The program runs from May 18 through August 13, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with monthly financial reports, forecasts, and budgeting activities.
- Help consolidate financial data and build Excel models for scenario planning.
- Conduct research on market trends and financial benchmarks.
- Support accounting tasks, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and accounts payable or receivable processes.
- Help prepare and review financial statements and assist with audit preparation.
- Participate in meetings to understand strategic financial decisions.
- Take on team projects and engage in the Hylant Innovation Challenge to propose business solutions to leadership.
- Meet clients, carriers, and vendors through call shadowing and on-site visits.
- Visit multiple Hylant offices to expand your professional network.
What you'll need#
- Current standing as a junior, senior, or graduate student at an accredited college or university, or graduation within the past seven months.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or Business Administration.
- Availability to work on-site from May 18 to August 13, 2027.
- An interest in a long-term career in the insurance industry.
- Authorization to work for any U.S. employer.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities or part-time work is recommended.
