About the role#
Data is the foundation of our trading strategies at Hudson River Trading. As a Data Scientist Intern, you will work on extracting useful information from large volumes of data. You will gain hands-on experience with modeling and engineering practices within the algorithmic trading industry while working on independent projects.
What you'll do#
- Normalize and validate vendor data.
- Extract features from quantitative and textual data.
- Apply rigorous quality checks to data sets.
- Investigate new methodologies to provide high-quality data for research and trading.
- Conduct independent data investigation projects using Python libraries like pandas and polars.
What you'll need#
- You are a full-time student pursuing a degree in a STEM field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Programming experience with Python at the level of Python for Data Analysis by Wes McKinney.
- A curiosity for working with data and finding insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.

- This role is located in New York, NY.
- The internship takes place during Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- The role is paid and includes company-paid housing and meals.
