About the role#
As a Benefits Analyst Intern, you will gain insight into the group benefits industry by working with experienced colleagues on the National Accounts Team. You will analyze data, respond to client inquiries, and provide strategic support to help solve complex problems. This position involves collaborating with consultants to drive outcomes for clients in various industry sectors.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct day-to-day problem solving support for clients regarding their group benefits programs.
- Support client communication by drafting formal letters and reports.
- Perform data entry to support quarterly and annual financial analysis.
- Conduct renewal analysis and negotiate fees and rates with carriers.
- Review insurance contracts and financial statements.
- Support the lead consultant in managing projects and conducting research.
- Actively manage all assigned accounts and represent the firm in client meetings and presentations.
- Handle confidential information while adhering to privacy agreements.
What you'll need#
- Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or Human Resources.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in an analyst or corporate setting.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, project management, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to complete LLQP certification within the first year of employment if not already held.
- Completion of courses related to Group Benefits is considered an asset.
